Community Impact

At GLAFF, we drive change beyond the screen by donating 100% of the box office proceeds to organizations making a meaningful impact in our communities. These organizations work to build more just, inclusive communities with greater opportunities for all. We support initiatives focused on social justice, education, and the empowerment of Latinx and BIPOC communities, recognizing their vital role in creating spaces where all voices can be heard, represented, and valued.

Voices that Inspire
Meet Get-Lit

Get Lit gives new voices a space to be heard. Through poetry, spoken word, and storytelling, the organization empowers young people to express their ideas, experiences, and identity. Its innovative platform Uni(verse) integrates poetry, multimedia, and learning, creating new ways for young people to develop their voice, connect with others, and share their stories—in step with our commitment at GLAFF to empower the next generation of creators and storytellers.

Organizations we support

In this 16th edition, we are honored to recognize the work of AMBOS Project (Art Made Between Opposite Sides), a women-led, binational artist collective founded in 2016 by artist Tanya Aguiñiga.

Working along the U.S.–Mexico border, AMBOS brings together artists, migrants, and local communities through collaborative art, storytelling, and community programs. Its work explores migration, identity, and belonging, bringing visibility to the lived experiences of border communities and building connections that transcend borders.

Through its initiatives, AMBOS creates spaces for connection, expression, and collaboration that strengthen community ties and foster a deeper understanding of migrant experiences.

At GLAFF, we believe that cinema and art have the power to connect communities and create positive change. That is why GLAFF’s box office proceeds this year will support AMBOS Project and help sustain its work.

With every ticket purchased, you become part of this effort, helping these stories, connections, and initiatives continue to grow.
