About GLAFF
At GLAFF, we celebrate the cinematic diversity of Latin America and BIPOC communities in the United States.
Since 2010, in partnership with the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), we have discovered, supported, and promoted new voices while showcasing the work of established creators.
Our passion is to drive and empower the next generation of Latin American, Latinx, and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) filmmakers, creating spaces for their stories to be seen, heard, and recognized.

Mission
We support and give visibility to a new generation of Latin American, Latinx, and BIPOC filmmakers. We do this through educational programs, mentorships, professional networks, and international exposure, so their stories can reach new audiences.
Vision
We want to contribute to a more diverse audiovisual industry, where our communities are present at every stage of the creative process. We work to unlock opportunities, facilitate connections, and support the growth of a cinema that speaks to broader audiences.
History
Fifteen years of building a cinematic bridge between Mexico, Latin America, and Los Angeles.
2010
Where It All Began
We began in 2010 as FICG in LA, the sister festival of the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG). For over a decade, we have built a cultural bridge, bringing some of the most notable films from Mexico and Latin America to Los Angeles.
2020
A New Identity
We have evolved to embrace the bicultural spirit and diverse voices of the Latinx and BIPOC communities in Los Angeles.
Today
A Bridge Between Cultures
We continue to be a platform for Latin American and U.S. BIPOC filmmakers and storytellers.
Through our ongoing collaboration with FICG, we strengthen the cultural and industry bridge between Mexico and the United States, creating meaningful connections between filmmakers, audiences, and the industry.

What is GLAFF?
GLAFF (GuadaLAjara Film Festival) is a nonprofit film festival that celebrates Latin American, Latinx, and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) voices in film and culture. Each year, it bridges stories between both sides of the border through film, community, and education.
Where is the festival held?
GLAFF is hosted at premier cultural and cinematic venues throughout Los Angeles.
Past and recent venues include The United Theater on Broadway, Linwood Dunn Theater, Vidiots, Alamo Drafthouse DTLA, Milagro Cinemas Norwalk, as well as events hosted in collaboration with Arizona State University (ASU) and The University of Guadalajara Foundation USA at the Herald Examiner Building in Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA).

When does the festival take place?
GLAFF is held annually in Los Angeles.
The 2026 edition will take place November 5-7.
Dates for future editions are announced in advance on our website and social media channels.
Who organizes the festival?
GLAFF is presented by The University of Guadalajara Foundation USA, in collaboration with the Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara (FICG), the Grodman Legacy, and the Universidad de Guadalajara.
What can I expect at the festival?
Experience a vibrant lineup of feature films, documentaries, and short films that showcase bold storytelling and diverse perspectives from Latin American, Latinx, and BIPOC filmmakers.
Beyond the screenings, GLAFF offers masterclasses, industry panels, networking events, and WIP Latino (Work in Progress) our post-production initiative dedicated to supporting outstanding Latin American films on their path to completion.
Are events open to the public?
Absolutely! GLAFF welcomes film lovers, students, and industry professionals alike.
Most screenings, conversations, panels, and special events are open to the public. Some industry programs, networking events, and gala celebrations may require accreditation, an invitation, or advance RSVP.

How can I get tickets?
Tickets and All-Access Passes are available at glaff.org
Please note that Gala screenings and special events may require separate RSVP. Even with an All-Access Pass, attendees must reserve their seats in advance to secure entry for each screening or event.
Where do the proceeds go?
GLAFF drives change beyond the screen by donating all box office proceeds to organizations making a meaningful difference in our community.

GLAFF accepts submissions through an annual Call for Entries.
