Synopsis
Unfolding me makes a simile between error and a mood disorder, understanding error as something random, incomprehensible, and disruptive. In three sleepless nights, Henrietta experiences a psychotic breakdown, in which herself becomes detached from her body. This is not about madness, but about a situation spiraling out of control. Using visual metaphors we talk about the denial of oneself, the immobility of the body and the separation of body and mind, divided into three acts. These sensations conclude in Henrietta’s delirium: the exterior and interior of her house blur together, there are shadows that haunt her and she ultimately falls into a bottomless spiral.
Sinopsis
Desdoblándome hace un símil entre el error y una enfermedad del trastorno del ánimo, entendiendo el error como algo aleatorio, inaprensible, disruptivo. En tres noches sin dormir, Henrietta experimenta una crisis psicótica, en la que su yo se desliga de su cuerpo. No se habla de locura, sino de una situación fuera de control. En tres actos se aborda, mediante metáforas visuales, la negación de uno mismo, la inmovilidad del cuerpo y la separación cuerpo-mente. Estas sensaciones desembocan en el delirio de Henrietta: el exterior y el interior de su casa se mezclan, hay sombras que la acechan y finalmente cae en un espiral sin fondo.

Director's Bio
Natalia Pájaro is a Mexican visual artist interested in exploring experimental techniques that integrate traditional oil painting and moving image. She studied at the FAD, UNAM (Mexico). Director and animator at La Endina studio since 2014, whose short films and collaborations have received awards at festivals such as Ecofilm, Pixelatl Shortway, FICM, and Cutout. She has twice been a recipient of the FONCA grant in the video category, and of the Piso 16 Mentorship Program. She received FOCINE support for animation with the short film Desdoblándome (second place at Shortway Pixelatl, SFC/Rendez-Vous Industry Cannes) and for Experimental Cinema with her current project in development, Siempre en riesgo. She explores the concept of error as something necessary, to be encouraged more than certainty. The error of doing and undoing, retracing one´s steps, enjoying the ephemeral and moving through randomness; allowing oneself to be indeterminate.
Natalia Pájaro es una artista visual mexicana que explora técnicas experimentales que integran la pintura al óleo tradicional y la imagen en movimiento. Estudió en la FAD, UNAM. Directora y animadora en el estudio La Endina desde 2014, cuyos cortometrajes y colaboraciones han sido presentados en diversos festivales, tales como Ecofilm, Pixelatl Shortway, FICM y Cutout. Becaria en dos ocasiones del Fonca en la categoría de video, y de Piso 16 Programa de acompañamiento. Beneficiaria del apoyo de Focine, para animación con el cortometraje Desdoblándome (segundo lugar en Shortway Pixelatl, SFC/Rendez Vous Industry Cannes) y para cine Experimental, con el proyecto actualmente en desarrollo Siempre en riesgo. Ella explora el concepto del error como algo necesario, que debe fomentarse más que la certeza. El error de hacer y deshacer, de retomar los propios pasos, de disfrutar lo efímero y transitar por lo aleatorio; permitiéndose ser indeterminado.
