Production Designer Award & Mentorship
Presented by the Art Directors Guild Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (ADG DEI)
GLAFF (GuadaLAjara Film Festival), in collaboration with the Art Directors Guild Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (ADG DEI), proudly introduces the Production Designer Award & Mentorship — a new recognition celebrating outstanding visual storytelling within the Latin American, Latinx, and BIPOC filmmaking community.
The award will be presented during the “Crash Out” Short Films Block Screening at GLAFF 2025, honoring the artistic excellence, innovation, and cultural authenticity of one Production Designer from the Official Selection (Narrative Shorts).
This initiative underscores GLAFF and ADG DEI’s shared commitment to:
- Celebrate emerging talent in Production Design from Latin American, Latinx, and BIPOC voices.
- Recognize the essential creative role of Production Designers in shaping cinematic worlds.
- Amplify visibility for underrepresented artists in the Art Department.
- Foster mentorship, inclusion, and cross-border collaboration in the industry.
Eligibility
Open to Narrative Short Films selected as part of the GLAFF 2025 Official Selection.
The award honors the Production Designer whose work demonstrates exceptional artistry, originality, and connection to the film’s cultural narrative.
Award Details
- The recipient will be celebrated during the “Crash Out” Shorts Block Screening at GLAFF 2025 and will receive:
- Travel and lodging (U.S. or Mexico-based recipients).
- Two tickets to the 2026 ADG Awards.
- Three creative review sessions led by an ADG Mentor, offering personalized guidance on their next project or professional portfolio.
Together, GLAFF and ADG DEI continue to build bridges for diverse creators — championing artistry, mentorship, and representation on both sides of the border.
Premio y Mentoría para Diseñador(a) de Producción
Presentado por el Comité de Diversidad, Equidad e Inclusión del Art Directors Guild (ADG DEI)
- Celebrar el talento emergente en Diseño de Producción dentro de las comunidades latinoamericanas, latinx y BIPOC.
- Reconocer el papel esencial de Diseñadorxs de Producción en la construcción del lenguaje visual cinematográfico.
- Dar mayor visibilidad a artistas subrepresentados en el Departamento de Arte.
- Impulsar la mentoría, la inclusión y la colaboración entre industrias y fronteras.
Eligibilidad
- Abierto a Cortometrajes Narrativos seleccionados como parte de la Selección Oficial de GLAFF 2025.
- El premio reconocerá al Diseñadorx de Producción cuyo trabajo destaque por su mérito artístico, originalidad y conexión con el contexto cultural de la historia.
