Over the course of two nights, a widower confronted with his own looming mortality faces his estranged children, who are in search of their own identities after the loss of their mother. As father and children come to terms with their own existence, “The Erection of Toribio Bardelli” turns into a tender and subtle meditation on grief.

Adrián Saba studied film and anthropology at Hofstra University with a Fulbright scholarship. He graduated with his short film El Río in 2010. His debut film El Limpiador premiered San Sebastian–New Directors 2012. He developed his second film El Soñador at the Cannes Cinefondation Residence and premiered at Berlinale Generation 2016. “The Erection of Toribio Bardelli” is his third feature film.
