Based on the literary masterpiece from Juan Rulfo, the film narrates Juan Preciado's (Tenoch Huerta) journey full of illusions while he searches for the wealth of a father whom he does not know. But when Juan arrives in Comala, he only finds the atrocious memories of a town subjected for decades to that ruthless man, Pedro Páramo (Manuel García-Rulfo). Pedro's violent crusade in pursuit of wealth and fury over his unrequited love for Susana San Juan (Ilse Salas) condemned the entirety of Comala to rot with him. So much so that Juan begins to wonder if the inhabitants of this place might not be alive.
